Since the 2001 launch of MIRACLES, students, instructors and parents alike are enthusiastic about the program. 

About Our MIRACLES Kids:

• 44% of participants were eligible for free and reduced price lunch
• Girls enrolled at a higher rate (57%) than boys (43%)
• Enrollment in MIRACLES was 54% Black, 36% Hispanic, 9% other and 1% White

What Kids and Parents Are Saying About MIRACLES

• MIRACLES students rate themselves as good students and write that they “Love MIRACLES!”
• Parents of MIRACLES students say:
  • Their children enjoy being in MIRACLES
  • MIRACLES is a better option for their children than other after-school activities
  • The program offers a safe atmosphere for their children to spend time after-school
  • MIRACLES helps their children do better in school
• Parents enroll their children in MIRACLES for reasons that directly align with the goals of the program.
• Of all the reasons parents could list for enrolling their children in MIRACLES, the most common response was “to help them get a better job in the future.”
• The second most common response was “to help them do better in school.”
• It is clear that parents feel that they are making a positive investment in their children’s future when they enroll their child in MIRACLES
• 10% of MIRACLES students (6th & 7th graders) who took the end of the year MIRACLES assessment stated that they were interested in a technology-related career.
• In our technology-driven society, most of the other occupations they listed (i.e., musician, doctor, lawyer, etc.) require some knowledge of technology to be successful.
